Unconditional love
When
we truly love someone it’s because of who they are, their unique personality,
how they react and act, including their faults and we don’t want to change
them,
this
is called unconditional love.
Love is being happy when that person is happy, caring, worrying, empathy, and listening,
“When
you hurt I hurt.”
Jesus
is about unconditional love, He loves us unconditionally, the Bible tells us we
are to love the Lord and others unconditionally.
Many mothers and fathers have unconditional love for their children.
Conditional love is not real love;
“I
love him but I need to change him”
“I
love her because she’s nice to me”
“I
love him because he’s good to me”
“I
love her because she loves me”
“As
long as he treats me right I love him”
Real
love never talks to others behind someone’s back.
None of us are perfect therefore we have no right to judge or criticize another.
God
has the perfect unconditional love for us.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
4 Love
is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not
puffed up. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily
angered or resentful. 6 It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in
the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,
endures all things.
The Greatest and First Commandment
37 Jesus said to him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the FIRST and greatest commandment. 39 The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
