What is courage?


Love, Courage, and Faith go hand in hand with Jesus.


Courage as a Christian is withstanding fear or difficulty with Jesus at our side.


We are not to be afraid or tremble, we have hope with Jesus.



Is courage stronger when we are secure with Jesus?



A Christian with courage enables strength and endurance with Jesus.



Does the Lord want us to posses a pessimistic or optimistic outlook in life?



Courage and an optimistic outlook with Jesus helps us with uphill battles.

Matthew 10;34-36

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.



Being a Christian will divide families. 

Conflict and disagreement in families will arise between Christians and non-
Christians. 

Peace with our family cannot come before our commitment to the Lord. 

Becoming a Christian is reality of alienation of one’s family.



Deuteronomy 31;6

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.”



Joshua 1;6-7

6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.



Joshua 1;9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”



Joshua 1;18

“Anyone who rebels against your command and does not obey your words in all that you command him, shall be put to death; only be strong and courageous.”



Psalm 27;14

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.

Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who hope in the Lord.



Daniel 10;19
