Judging Others

Judging others

Slander

criticizing God’s creation

We have no right to be a moralist,
(one concerned with regulating the morals of others.)

We have no right to judge others, only Jesus has that right.

The scriptures tell us we are not to slander.
If we judge others, we condemn ourselves.

What gives us the right to judge?
Did the Lord promote us to a level of “Captain of Judging”?

Is it a sin to judge.

When we judge we are setting a bad example of a Christian to others and that's what the lawless one wants.

Judging is being hypercritical or self-righteous.
If we judge someone we are putting ourself above that individual, we don't have that right.

When we judge we are criticizing Gods creations.
Jesus says we are not to judge others.
We have no right to judge, only the God has the right.

If we judge others we condemn ourselves

The Condemnation of the Moralist

Romans 2;1-16
1 Therefore you are without excuse, whoever you are, when you judge someone else. For on whatever grounds you judge another, you condemn yourself, because you who judge practice the same things. 2 Now we know that God’s judgment is in accordance with truth against those who practice such things. 3 And do you think, whoever you are, when you judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself, that you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you have contempt for the wealth of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, and yet do not know that God’s kindness leads you to repentance? 5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed! 6 He will reward each one according to his works: 7 eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality, 8 but wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but follow unrighteousness. 9 There will be affliction and distress on everyone who does evil, on the Jew first and also the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, for the Jew first and also the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God. 12 For all who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous. 14 For whenever the Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature the things required by the law, these who do not have the law are a law to themselves. 15 They show that the work of the law is written in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or else defend them, 16 on the day when God will judge the secrets of human hearts, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.

Leviticus 19;16
You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the Lord.

Matthew 7;1-5
[ Judging Others ]
1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
