Obsession

Obsession

possession, greed, idolatry.

In this day and age we can easily idolize things without even being aware of it.

In this day and age in our materialistic society we have possessions;
Toys, hobbies, sports, fitness, etc.
These things can easily be obsessions which we live for and idolize.

Are we obsessed with TV? How many hours, days, weeks, and years to we spend watching TV verses studying the Bible?

Are we driven by the world or driven by Jesus?

We are driven in worldly life it's about fighting time, accumulating, accomplishing, pressure, stress, aggressiveness, loneliness, boredom, overload, activate, possessions, negativity, negative news, desire, thirst, want, self-indulgence, me, satisfaction, confusion, get one car ahead of another in traffic, pushing,  political correctness, irrational thought processes, fighting time, sickness, false realities, desires, obsessions, tragedies, and false idols.

At times we don’t want to face reality.

If we are driven by the world we are programmed pulpits on a string.

Our free time is spent attempting to quench a thirst.
Are we really satisfied?

Life is about false joy and happiness, it’s an unquenchable thirst.

Led by the world;
It’s all about me, it’s not about consideration, sympathy, or empathy, or love for others.

We live in a vapor bubble and are constantly fighting time.

We don’t take down time, we don’t deactivate.

We work and have our hobbies and sports, we live for things that we think make us happy.

We chose sides, point fingers, judge and criticize others.

We think we’re better than others.

We think we are right and they are wrong.

Not enough time!
We eat take out and fast foods, don’t exercise.

We think we are at peace and satisfied with life.

We think we know what pleases us and satisfies us.

Everything is about distractions and attractions, who is behind it.

We don’t have time for Jesus, we surely don’t have time to go to meetings, Bible study, and church.

I’m happy and satisfied with my life, I don’t want or need change.

I don’t want someone telling me what I can and can’t do, I don’t need any more rules and regulations, I have plenty of that.
It’s my life and I will chose and do what I want with it.

Life is meaningless with the Lord.
