The
reality of life.
Without
Jesus we go through life chasing the wind, it’s meaningless.
It’s
a very short life and then we vanish.
Life is meaningless without Jesus, why can't unbelievers understand?
Ecclesiastes 1;14
I reflected on everything that is accomplished by man on earth, and I concluded: Everything he has accomplished is futile—like chasing the wind!
Daryl
Strawberry
famous baseball player;
“I
had all kinds of homes cars and money but it meant nothing. I chased women,
drank, used drugs, did it all, it was meaningless.”
I
wasn’t a man until I met Jesus and when I met Jesus I became a man.
Day
in and day out we are constantly fighting time.
I
was in a camp ground with my Dad many years ago and there was a guy sitting
outside his camper all day; my Dad pointed to him and said; “look at that guy,
he has nothing but time”.
Without
Jesus in our heart life is only about self-indulgence and futility. Everything is
short term false happiness.
Without
Jesus in our hearts we are under the false impression of happiness with our hobbies and toys. It’s
all about unreal self-gratification and satisfaction. We just chaise the
wind and life is over.
Without
Jesus in our life it is useless.
We
think our toys and hobbies make us happy but they all are short lived.
We
think with money we have security, we are satisfied and happy but it’s not
true.
According
to the Word we are a mist that appears for a little while on this earth than
vanishes.
We
go through Life attempting to quench our thirst, but it never happens, we are
insatiable and unrelenting.
Life
is meaningless without the Lord our God. We only can quench our thirst with
Jesus.
Worldly
secular life is unquenchable, we are never satisfied.
With
Jesus in our hearts we have infinite long term happiness, security, love, and
satisfaction!
Self-indulgent
pleasure is false pleasure, nothing more than futility.

How
foolish are the people of this world! In a little time how worthless will be
all their wealth! It is gained by anxiety, and toil, and tears. It never
satisfies. It harasses them with constant care. It smooths no wrinkles on their
brow, alleviates no pain when they are sick, saves no friend from death, gives
no consolation in regard to the future, and may be left at any moment. Others
will soon possess, and perhaps scatter in dissipation, what they have obtained
by so much toil. And while they scatter or enjoy it, where shall the soul of
him be who spent all his probation to obtain it? Alas! Lost, lost, lost -
forever lost! And no wealth, no man, no devil, no angel, can redeem him, or be
given for his soul. The harvest will be past, the summer ended, and he not
saved. In gaining the world he made two things certain - disappointment and
trouble here, and an eternity of woe hereafter. How foolish and wicked is man!

4;14
14 Why, you do not even know
what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears
for a little while and then vanishes.
1 Corinthians 1;19
For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.”
Matthew
16;26
26 For what will it profit a man
if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in
exchange for his soul?
Psalm
39;6
6
“Surely
every man walks about as a phantom;
Surely
they make an uproar for nothing;
He
amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.”
Ecclesiastes 1;14
I reflected on everything that is accomplished by man on earth, and I concluded: Everything he has accomplished is futile—like chasing the wind!
Ecclesiastes 2;11
Yet when I reflected on everything I had accomplished and on all the effort that I had expended to accomplish it, I concluded: “All these achievements and possessions are ultimately profitless— like chasing the wind! There is nothing gained from them on earth.”
Ecclesiastes 2;17
So I loathed life because what happens on earth seems awful to me; for all the benefits of wisdom are futile—like chasing the wind.
Ecclesiastes 2;26
For to the one who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy, but to the sinner, he gives the task of amassing wealth— only to give it to the one who pleases God. This task of the wicked is futile—like chasing the wind!
Ecclesiastes 4;4
[ Labor Motivated by Envy ] Then I considered all the skillful work that is done: Surely it is nothing more than competition between one person and another. This also is profitless—like chasing the wind.
Ecclesiastes 4;6
Better is one handful with some rest than two hands full of toil and chasing the wind.
Ecclesiastes 4;16
There is no end to all the people nor to the past generations, yet future generations will not rejoice in him. This also is profitless and like chasing the wind.
Ecclesiastes 6;9
It is better to be content with what the eyes can see than for one’s heart always to crave more. This continual longing is futile—like chasing the wind.
Ecclesiastes
8;16-17
16 When I gave my heart to know
wisdom and to see the task which has been done on the earth (even though one
should never sleep day or night), 17 and I saw every work of God, I
concluded that man cannot discover the work which has been done under the
sun. Even though man should seek laboriously, he will not discover; and though
the wise man should say, “I know,” he cannot discover.
Psalm
19
The
Works and the Word of God.
1
The
heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And
their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
2
Day
to day pours forth speech,
And
night to night reveals knowledge.
3
There
is no speech, nor are there words;
Their
voice is not heard.
4
Their
line has gone out through all the earth,
And
their utterances to the end of the world.
In them
He has placed a tent for the sun,
5
Which
is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
It
rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
6
Its
rising is from one end of the heavens,
And
its circuit to the other end of them;
And
there is nothing hidden from its heat.
7
The
law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The
testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8
The
precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The
commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9
The
fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The
judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
10
They
are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter
also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11
Moreover,
by them Your servant is warned;
In
keeping them there is great reward.
12
Who
can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.
13
Also
keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins;
Let
them not rule over me;
Then
I will be blameless,
And
I shall be acquitted of great transgression.
14
Let
the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be
acceptable in Your sight,
O
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
