What is light?
God
created the beautiful light for us; the sun, the moon and the stars.
What
would life be like without light?
Light
is good, we
see with the light.
We
must give God the credit for he gave man the intelligence to create artificial
light as in flashlights, headlights, bulbs, electricity, etc.
The
light of the sun makes flowers and vegetation grow.
God
is the Father of Heavenly lights!
Can
you imagine living in total darkness day and night?
There
are places on the earth where people live depending on the season where it’s
light 24 hours a day or dark 24 hours a day, how do they react to that?
God
created light and sight,
there
is no light without sight.
In
the Bible light always involves the removal of darkness.
We
feel safe with light, unsafe with darkness.
There
are dull and bright lights,
as
a Christian are we a dull light or bright light?
As
Christians we are to be a bright shining light of example for others. The light of the sun lifts us up, a cloudy day and darkness depresses some of us.
Jesus is the light of the world!
In
the Bible, darkness represents everything that is evil.
If
we believe in God, we will no longer be in darkness.
The
fruit of light consists of goodness, truth and righteousness.
We
must thank God for the light.
As
Christians we have the light of life.
"Forgive me Lord for taking light for granted."
Dictionary - light

Psalms
97;11
11 Light shines
on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.

as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in
darkness.
Proverbs
56;13
13 For you have delivered me
from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light
of life.
John
8;12
[ Jesus
as the Light of the World ] Then Jesus spoke out again, “I am
the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in
darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Genesis
1;3-5
3
God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light!
4
God saw that the light was good, so God separated the light
from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day” and the darkness
“night.” There was evening, and there was morning, marking the first day.
Genesis
1; 14-18
14
God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky
to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs to indicate seasons
and days and years. 15 and let them serve as lights in the
expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” It was so. 16 God
made two great lights—the greater light to
rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night. He
made the stars also. 17 God placed the lights in the
expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,
18
to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light
from the darkness. God saw that it was good.
Exodus
27;20
[ Offering
the Oil ] “You are to command the Israelites that they bring to you pure
oil of pressed olives for the light, so that the lamps will burn
regularly.
Leviticus
24;2
“Command
the Israelites to bring to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light,
to make a lamp burn continually.
2
Samuel 23;4
is
like the light of morning when the sun comes up, a morning in
which there are no clouds. He is like the brightness after rain that produces
grass from the earth
John
8;12
[ Jesus
as the Light of the World ] Then Jesus spoke out again, “I am
the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in
darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Samuel 23;2-5
The
Lord’s spirit spoke through me;
his
word was on my tongue.
3
The
God of Israel spoke,
the
protector of Israel spoke to me.
The
one who rules fairly among men,
the
one who rules in the fear of God,
4
is
like the light of morning when the sun comes up,
a
morning in which there are no clouds.
He
is like the brightness after rain
that
produces grass from the earth.
5
My
dynasty is approved by God,
for
he has made a perpetual covenant with me,
arranged
in all its particulars and secured.
He
always delivers me,
and
brings all I desire to fruition.
Psalms
27;1
1 The LORD is my light
and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of
whom shall I be afraid?

John 1;5-7
Light
5 This is the message we have
heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is
no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet
walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if
we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we
have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us
from all sin.
John
1;17
17 Every good and perfect gift
is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.
John
1;4-14
Light
4 In him was life, and that
life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in
the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6 There was a man
sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify
concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8
He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to
everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though
the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He
came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet
to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural
descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. 14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,
the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and
truth.
John
12;46
46 I have come into the world
as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in
darkness.
Ephesians
5;8-9
8 For you were once darkness,
but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9
(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness,
righteousness and truth)
Philippians
2;15
15 so that you may become
blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked
generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the
sky.
2
Peter 1;19
19 We also have the prophetic
message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention
to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns
and the morning star rises in your hearts.
