As
we know the Bible is full of precepts, exhortations, (rules and warnings.)
We must adhere to the warnings from God.
If
we don’t bear fruit he cuts off branches.
We
must remain in God.
We
must love one another.
We
must fight the good fight.
We
must always remember there is a spiritual warfare today.
We
must always remember the enemy is always near by.
John 12:37-50The Unbelief of the PeopleWhen Jesus had said this, he departed and hid himself from them. 37 Though he had done so many signs before them, yet they did not believe in him; 38 it was that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:“Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”39 Therefore they could not believe. For Isaiah again said,40“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and turn for me to heal them.”41 Isaiah said this because he saw his glory and spoke of him. 42 Nevertheless many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.Summary of Jesus’ Teaching44 And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And he who sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. 47 If any one hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority; the Father who sent me has himself given me commandment what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has bidden me.”
Exodus 20;5
You
shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for
the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.
1 Chronicles 10;14
He did not seek the Lord’s guidance, so the Lord killed him and transferred the kingdom to David son of Jesse.
1 Chronicles 10;14
He did not seek the Lord’s guidance, so the Lord killed him and transferred the kingdom to David son of Jesse.
Romans
2;6-9
6 He will reward
each one according to his works: 7 eternal life
to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and
immortality, 8 but wrath
and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but
follow unrighteousness. 9 There will be affliction and
distress on everyone who does evil, on the Jew first and also
the Greek.
John
15;1-17
The
Vine and the Branches
1 “I am the true vine and my
Father is the gardener. 2 He takes away every branch that does not
bear fruit in me. He prunes every branch that bears fruit so that it will bear
more fruit. 3 You are clean already because of the
word that I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, and I will
remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains
in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the
branches. The one who remains in me—and I in him—bears much fruit, because
apart from me you can accomplish nothing. 6 If anyone does not
remain in me, he is thrown out like a branch, and dries up; and such branches
are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and are burned up. 7 If
you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will
be done for you. 8 My Father is honored by this, that you bear much fruit
and show that you are my disciples.
9 “Just as the Father has loved
me, I have also loved you; remain in my love. 10 If you obey my
commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s
commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so
that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be complete. 12 My
commandment is this—to love one another just as I have loved you. 13 No
one has greater love than this—that one lays down his life for his friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 I no longer
call you slaves, because the slave does not understand what his master is
doing. But I have called you friends, because I have revealed to you everything
I heard from my Father. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and
appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you
ask the Father in my name he will give you. 17 This I command you—to love
one another.

The
Lord Gives a Warning
9
One
who argues with his Creator is in grave danger,
one
who is like a mere shard among the other shards on the ground!
The
clay should not say to the potter,
“What
in the world are you doing?
Your
work lacks skill!”
10
Danger
awaits one who says to his father,
“What
in the world are you fathering?”
and
to his mother,
“What
in the world are you bringing forth?”
11
This
is what the Lord says,
the
Holy One of Israel, the one who formed him,
concerning
things to come:
“How
dare you question me about my children!
How
dare you tell me what to do with the work of my own hands!
12
I
made the earth,
I
created the people who live on it.
It
was me—my hands stretched out the sky,
I
give orders to all the heavenly lights.
13
It
is me—I stir him up and commission him;
I
will make all his ways level.
He
will rebuild my city;
he
will send my exiled people home,
but
not for a price or a bribe,”
says
the Lord who commands armies.
Zephaniah
1
Day
of Judgment on Judah
1 The word of the Lord which
came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of
Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah:
2
“I
will completely remove all things
From
the face of the earth,” declares the Lord.
3
“I
will remove man and beast;
I
will remove the birds of the sky
And
the fish of the sea,
And
the ruins along with the wicked;
And
I will cut off man from the face of the earth,” declares the Lord.
4
“So
I will stretch out My hand against Judah
And
against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
And
I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place,
And the names of the idolatrous
priests along with the priests.
5
“And
those who bow down on the housetops to the host of heaven,
And
those who bow down and swear to the Lord and yet swear by Milcom,
6
And
those who have turned back from following the Lord,
And
those who have not sought the Lord or inquired of Him.”
7
Be
silent before the Lord God!
For
the day of the Lord is near,
For
the Lord has prepared a sacrifice,
He
has consecrated His guests.
8
“Then
it will come about on the day of the Lord’s sacrifice
That
I will punish the princes, the king’s sons
And
all who clothe themselves with foreign garments.
9
“And
I will punish on that day all who leap on the temple threshold,
Who
fill the house of their lord with violence and deceit.
10
“On
that day,” declares the Lord,
“There
will be the sound of a cry from the Fish Gate,
A
wail from the Second Quarter,
And
a loud crash from the hills.
11
“Wail,
O inhabitants of the Mortar,
For
all the people of Canaan will be silenced;
All
who weigh out silver will be cut off.
12
“It
will come about at that time
That
I will search Jerusalem with lamps,
And
I will punish the men
Who
are stagnant in spirit,
Who
say in their hearts,
‘The
Lord will not do good or evil!’
13
“Moreover,
their wealth will become plunder
And
their houses desolate;
Yes,
they will build houses but not inhabit them,
And
plant vineyards but not drink their wine.”
14
Near
is the great day of the Lord,
Near
and coming very quickly;
Listen,
the day of the Lord!
[l]In
it the warrior cries out bitterly.
15
A
day of wrath is that day,
A
day of trouble and distress,
A
day of destruction and desolation,
A
day of darkness and gloom,
A
day of clouds and thick darkness,
16
A
day of trumpet and battle cry
Against
the fortified cities
And
the high corner towers.
17
I
will bring distress on men
So
that they will walk like the blind,
Because
they have sinned against the Lord;
And
their blood will be poured out like dust
And
their flesh like dung.
18
Neither
their silver nor their gold
Will
be able to deliver them
On
the day of the Lord’s wrath;
And
all the earth will be devoured
In
the fire of His jealousy,
For
He will make a complete end,
Indeed
a terrifying one,
Of
all the inhabitants of the earth
Foolishness
Unbelief and Its
Consequences
18 For the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who
suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is
known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For
since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and
divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been
made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew
God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in
their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing
to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the
incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and
four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
24 Therefore God gave them over
in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored
among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and
worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed
forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them
over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for
that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men
abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward
one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own
persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see
fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do
those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all
unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit,
malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God,
insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without
understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although
they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy
of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who
practice them. with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy,
murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers,
haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to
parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving,
unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that
those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same,
but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
Colossians
2;2-20
You
Are Built Up in Christ
2 that
their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining
to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting
in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,
3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I
say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument. 5 For
even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit,
rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in
Christ.
6 Therefore
as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and
established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing
with gratitude.
8 See
to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception,
according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of
the world, rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fullness
of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete,
and He is the head over all rule and authority.
Warning
against false idols
Deuteronomy
4;15-24
The
Nature of Israel’s God
15 Be very careful, then,
because you saw no form at the time the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the
middle of the fire. 16 I say this so you will not corrupt
yourselves by making an image in the form of any kind of figure. This includes
the likeness of a human male or female, 17 any kind of land animal,
any bird that flies in the sky, 18 anything that crawls on the
ground, or any fish in the deep waters of the earth. 19 When you
look up to the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars—the whole heavenly
creation—you must not be seduced to worship and serve them, for the Lord your
God has assigned them to all the people of the world. 20 You,
however, the Lord has selected and brought from Egypt, that iron-smelting
furnace, to be his special people as you are today. 21 But the Lord
became angry with me because of you and vowed that I would never cross the
Jordan nor enter the good land that he is about to give you. 22 So
I must die here in this land; I will not cross the Jordan. But you are going
over and will possess that good land. 23 Be on guard so that you do
not forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he has made with you, and
that you do not make an image of any kind, just as he has forbidden you. 24 For
the Lord your God is a consuming fire; he is a jealous God.
The Abomination of
Desolation
Mark
13;14-23
14 “But when you see the
abomination of desolation standing where it should not be” (let the reader
understand), “then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. 15 The
one on the roof must not come down or go inside to take anything out of his
house. 16 The one in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
17 Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their
babies in those days! 18 Pray that it may not be in winter. 19 For
in those days there will be suffering unlike anything that has happened from
the beginning of the creation that God created until now, or ever will happen. 20 And
if the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would be saved. But because of
the elect, whom he chose, he has cut them short. 21 Then if anyone
says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe
him. 22 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and
perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect. 23 Be
careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.
Jude
1
The Warnings of
History to the Ungodly
1 Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus
Christ, and brother of James,
To
those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:
2 May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.
3 Beloved, while I was making
every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to
write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once
for all handed down to the saints. 4 For certain persons have crept
in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation,
ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our
only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5 Now I desire to remind you,
though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people
out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And
angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He
has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7 just
as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as
these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited
as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
8 Yet in the same way these
men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile
angelic majesties. 9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed
with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce
against him a railing judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” 10 But
these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which
they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are
destroyed. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and
for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the
rebellion of Korah. 12 These are the men who are hidden reefs in
your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves;
clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit,
doubly dead, uprooted; 13 wild waves of the sea, casting up their
own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been
reserved forever.
14 It was also about these men that
Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying,
“Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, 15 to
execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly
deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which
ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” 16 These are grumblers,
finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly,
flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.
Keep Yourselves in
the Love of God
17 But you, beloved, ought to
remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord
Jesus Christ, 18 that they were saying to you, “In the last time
there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” 19 These
are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But
you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the
Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting
anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22 And
have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching
them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment
polluted by the flesh.
24 Now to Him who is able to
keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory
blameless with great joy, 25 to the only God our Savior, through
Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before
all time and now and forever. Amen.
Titus
1;10-18
10 For there are many rebellious
men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 who
must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things
they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain. 12 One of
themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil
beasts, lazy gluttons.” 13 This testimony is true. For this reason
reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not
paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the
truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are
defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their
conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but by their
deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for
any good deed.
Titus
2;11-14
11 For the grace of God has
appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us to deny
ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in
the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing
of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave
Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself
a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

The
Destruction of the Temple
13 Now as Jesus was going out of
the temple courts, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, look at these
tremendous stones and buildings!” 2 Jesus said to him, “Do you see these
great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”
Signs
of the End of the Age
3 So while he was sitting on
the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked
him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what
will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?” 5 Jesus
began to say to them, “Watch out that no one misleads you. 6 Many
will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and they will mislead many. 7 When
you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must
happen, but the end is still to come. 8 For nation will rise up in
arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in
various places, and there will be famines. These are but the beginning of birth
pains.
Persecution
of Disciples
9 “You must watch out for
yourselves. You will be handed over to councils and beaten in the synagogues.
You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them. 10 First
the gospel must be preached to all nations. 11 When they arrest you
and hand you over for trial, do not worry about what to speak. But say whatever
is given you at that time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12 Brother
will hand over brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise
against parents and have them put to death. 13 You will be hated by
everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
The
Abomination of Desolation
14 “But when you see the
abomination of desolation standing where it should not be” (let the reader
understand), “then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. 15 The

The
Arrival of the Son of Man
24 “But in those days, after
that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its
light; 25 the stars will be falling from heaven, and
the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then everyone will
see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 Then
he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from
the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
The
Parable of the Fig Tree
28 “Learn this parable from the
fig tree: Whenever its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know
that summer is near. 29 So also you, when you see these things
happening, know that he is near, right at the door. 30 I tell you
the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these things take
place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never
pass away.
Be
Ready!
32 “But as for that day or hour
no one knows it—neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son—except the Father. 33 Watch
out! Stay alert! For you do not know when the time will come. 34 It
is like a man going on a journey. He left his house and put his slaves in
charge, assigning to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert.
35 Stay alert, then, because you do not know when the owner of the
house will return—whether during evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows,
or at dawn— 36 or else he might find you asleep when he returns
suddenly. 37 What I say to you I say to everyone: Stay alert!”

[ The
Glorious Return ] “But immediately after the tribulation of those days
the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the

Deuteronomy
28;58-67
58 “If you are not careful
to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book,
to fear this honored and awesome name, the Lord your God, 59 then
the Lord will bring extraordinary plagues on you and your descendants, even
severe and lasting plagues, and miserable and chronic sicknesses. 60 He
will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt of which you were afraid, and
they will cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague
which, not written in the book of this law, the Lord will bring on you until
you are destroyed. 62 Then you shall be left few in number, whereas
you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not obey the Lord
your God. 63 It shall come about that as the Lord delighted over
you to prosper you, and multiply you, so the Lord will delight over you to make
you perish and destroy you; and you will be torn from the land where you are
entering to possess it. 64 Moreover, the Lord will scatter you
among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and
there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers
have not known. 65 Among those nations you shall find no rest, and
there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the Lord
will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul. 66 So
your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you will be in dread night and
day, and shall have no assurance of your life. 67 In the morning
you shall say, ‘Would that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say,
‘Would that it were morning!’ because of the dread of your heart which you
dread, and for the sight of your eyes which you will see.
