Pride

The scriptures warn us against pride in ourselves, that is arrogant pride.

God opposes the proud.

Why do we have so many different variations of churches in Christianity?

Why do we have so many independent church variations in Christianity?

Why do we have so many different versions of the Bible?

Why do we have hundreds of different commentaries on the Bible?

It’s all about pride and confusion.

The Lord detests pride, the enemy loves pride and confusion.

In this day and age, there are hundreds of independent churches that focus on the fact that; this is my church, I started it, I know more, I understand more and my way is the correct way. I lean on my own understanding WHICH IS ALL ABOUT PRIDE.

I know more then you do!

Pride causes conflicts, disagreements, arguments, hate, dislike, wars, etc.

PRIDE CAUSES A MULTIPLE OF SINS.

It’s all about egotistical self-centered pride.

There is another pride, pride is Jesus is a good pride, boasting about Jesus is a good pride.

Narcissistic pride leads to disrespect and disobedience for God.

The enemy loves ego pride which is the top sin, pride can destroy a Christian, pride can keep a non-Christian from becoming a Christian.

We as Christians must guard against the sin of self-centered narcissistic pride. It can creep up so subtly and of course the enemy likes this. 

The scriptures refer to ego pride which is sin. Many wealthy people think they don’t need God, they got where they are on their own.

According to the God’s Word there is arrogant pride and there is humble pride, which is good.

Humble pride is pride in knowing and having Jesus in your heart as a Christian. 

I believe it’s ok in God's eyes to be proud of your family, wife and parents, etc. 

James 1;9-10
9 Now the believer of humble means should take pride in his high position. 10 But the rich persons pride should be in his humiliation, because otherwise he will pass away like a wildflower in the meadow.

Psalm 75;5

"Do not lift up your horn on high, Do not speak with insolent pride.’”

Psalm 90;10

As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away.

Pbs 8;13

Proverbs 8;13
The
 fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverted mouth, I hate."

Proverbs 11;2

When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom.

Proverbs 21;24

“Proud,” “Haughty,” “Scoffer,” are his names, Who acts with insolent pride.

Proverbs 29;23

A man’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.

Isaiah 16;6

We have heard of the pride of Moab, an excessive pride; Even of his arrogance, pride, and fury; His idle boasts are false.

Jeremiah 13;9

“Thus says the Lord, ‘Just so will I destroy the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

Ezekiel 7;24

Therefore, I will bring the worst of the nations, and they will possess their houses. I will also make the pride of the strong ones cease, and their holy places will be profaned.

Proverbs 16;18

Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling.

Leviticus 26;19

I will also break down your pride of power; I will also make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze.

Job 33;17

That He may turn man aside from his conduct, And keep man from pride.

Job 35;12

“There they cry out, but He does not answer Because of the pride of evil men.

“His strong scales are his pride, Shut up as with a tight seal.

In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

Let the lying lips be mute, Which speak arrogantly against the righteous With pride and contempt.

Let not the foot of pride come upon me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

Psalm 73;6

Therefore pride is their necklace; The garment of violence covers them.
