Division
Religion is one of the greatest example of division here on earth.
The Lord wants us to have unity not divisions.
The
enemy loves divisions.
Divisions
are about obstacles and arguments, which are caused by man’s understanding which is
why there are so many versions of the Bible and commentaries, they all believe
they are correct.
There is division when we don’t listen to or ask for
wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Disagreements over the interpretation of Scripture are taken personally and become focus points which lead to arguments, disagreements, fights, wars, and division, "I'm right and your wrong" attitudes.
News media uses our differences against us to demonstrate that we are not unified in thought or purpose, therefore religion has to many negative connotations.
Who is happy about this? The enemy.
Denominations are used by man out of self-arrogance and pride.
There are denominations today that are in a state of self-destruction as they are being led into apostasy by those who are promoting their personal agendas.
Mark
3;25
If a
house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

A

united in mind and thought.

Ephesians 4;1-6
Unity of the Spirit
1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
1 Corinthians 1:10
10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
An example would be the meaning and purpose of baptism. Is baptism a requirement for salvation or is it symbolic of the salvation process? There are denominations on both sides of this issue. In fact, baptism – its meaning, its mode, who can receive it, etc. – has been a central issue in the separation of churches and forming of new denominations.
Psalm 133;1
[ The Excellency of Brotherly Unity. ]
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!
