What
causes anger?
What
causes us to lose patience?
Are anxiety, pressure and stress involved?
Is
it easier to get angry when we are tired?
Is
it ok to get angry? Yes, according to the scriptures but we must control it,
we must not sin.
Ephesians
4;26
Be angry,
and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.
There
is God's anger and there is our anger.
Can
anger cause irrational and warped thinking?
Who
likes it when we are angry? The enemy.
God’s
anger and wrath is justified, our
anger must be controlled.
Exodus
4;14
Then
the anger of the Lord burned against Moses, and He said, “Is
there not your brother Aaron the Levite? I know that he speaks fluently. And
moreover, behold, he is coming out to meet you; when he sees you, he will be
glad in his heart.
Exodus
32;22
Aaron
said, “Do not let the anger of my Lord burn; you know the people
yourself, t hat they are prone to evil.
Exodus
34;6
Then
the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God,
compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in
lovingkindness and truth.
Numbers
11;1
[ The
People Complain ] Now the people became like those who complain of
adversity in the hearing of the Lord; and when the Lord heard it, His anger
was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some of
the outskirts of the camp.
Ephesians
4;26
Be angry,
and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.
Numbers
14;18
‘The
Lord is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving
iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth
generations.’
Numbers
32;13
So
the Lord’s anger burned against Israel, and He made them wander
in the wilderness forty years, until the entire generation of those who had
done evil in the sight of the Lord was destroyed.
Warning
about idols
Deuteronomy
4;25
“When
you become the father of children and children’s children and have remained
long in the land, and act corruptly, and make an idol in the form of anything,
and do that which is evil in the sight of the Lord your God so as to provoke
Him to anger.
Deuteronomy
6;15
for
the Lord your God in the midst of you is a jealous God; otherwise the anger
of the Lord your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the
face of the earth.
Deuteronomy
9;19
For
I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which the Lord
was wrathful against you in order to destroy you, but the Lord listened to me
that time also.
Deuteronomy
11;17
Or
the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will
shut up the heavens so that there will be no rain and the ground will not yield
its fruit; and you will perish quickly from the good land which the Lord is
giving you.
Deuteronomy
29;20
The
Lord shall never be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger
of the Lord and His jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse which
is written in this book will rest on him, and the Lord will blot out his name
from under heaven.
Deuteronomy
29;27

the anger of the Lord burned against that land, to bring upon it
every curse which is written in this book.
Mark
3;4-6
4 And He *said to them, “Is it
lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?” But
they kept silent. 5 After looking around at them with anger,
grieved at their hardness of heart, He *said to the man, “Stretch out your
hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. 6 The
Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians
against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.
Romans
10;19
But
I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says, “I will make you
jealous by that which is not a nation, By a nation without understanding will I
anger you.”
Galatians
5;16-24
16 But I say, walk by the
Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For
the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh;
for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things
that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not
under the Law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which
are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery,
enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions,
factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like
these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who
practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things
there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have
crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Ephesians
4;25-32
25 Therefore, laying aside falsehood,
speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one
another. 26 Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let
the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not give the
devil an opportunity. 28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather
he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have
something to share with one who has need. 29 Let no
unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is
good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it
will give grace to those who hear. 30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit
of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let
all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put
away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another,
tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven
you.
Ephesians
6;4
Fathers,
do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the
discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Colossians
3;8
But
now you also, put them all aside; anger, wrath, malice, slander, and
abusive speech from your mouth.
James
1;19-20
This you know, my beloved
brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;
for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
Revelation
14;10
he
also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full
strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with
fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of
the Lamb.
